The Baltic Exchange Golfing Society was established in 1901 and plays a pivotal role in promoting the gregarious nature of the Shipbroker, with our meetings providing active occasions for brokers to get together. We have over 120 members playing regularly in a series of meetings both internally within the Society and against teams from other shipping interests. The strong core of working shipbrokers that make up a majority of the Society will lead to further fixtures against a broader spectrum of shipping interests both here in the U.K. and abroad.
Information:
-
The tournament consists of 2 sections - North & South of the River Thames
Each section plays out until there is a North & a South winner. These 2 players contest a final with the winner crowned Gold Cup champion
The first listed golfer is the “home” player
It is up to either player to contact the other and arrange the match, which would usually be played at the “home” player’s club. In the event the “home” player does not have a club, both need to agree on a venue which can include the ”away” player’s club
The final needs to be completed prior to end October annual dinner so please complete your matches on time
The “visiting” player receives a courtesy extra shot
The tournament is singles match-play format over 18 holes, basis full handicap difference. If one player does not have a WHS handicap, then there is no adjustment applied to that player’s handicap.
Sudden death if the match is all-square after the 18th
Loser pays for all the green fees (so every player will only pay once)
